Dog owners behaviour shapes that of their dog, fact.
Symbiotic is a word I often use because it is an accurate way to describe it.
Your dog takes most of their behavioural cues from you.
Dogs like me because I am calm and consistent.
Your dog won't relax and be still because you have never given that behaviour a calm and relaxed value.
Your dog is active, stressed, busy and reactive because those are the behaviours you give the most attention to.
Your dog pulls on the lead because you do.
Your dog barks at other dogs because you tell them off for barking and pull the lead.
Your dog jumps up at visitors because your dog jumps up at you.
You tell your dog off for jumping up at visitors even when you have asked the visitor to ignore your dog.
You can't recall your dog because you taught them to chase a ball.
Every person in the park knows your dogs name because you are reacting to all the bad behaviour.
If none of the above change, your dog can't change.
If you don't want to change, there is no hope.
